Founded in 2003, the Clariane Group (formerly Korian) specialises in caring for frail people through the management of health and nursing homes. Since 2014, Wifirst has been managing the internet access and WiFi guest portal for over 70 SMR-Inicea clinics (medical care and rehabilitation) belonging to the group.
Unlike nursing homes, which are often located in city centres or on the outskirts of towns, medical care centres are often located in less densely populated areas where internet access is poor or non-existent (no fibre optic connections). The issue of internet access therefore poses a difficult challenge!
For each Inicea clinic we manage, we commission an expert to systematically conduct an audit to detect and identify potential WAN inflows and define a location for positioning the Wifirst boxes (Wifirst housing). This is an important and indispensable step in setting up a Wifirst network infrastructure. Depending on the suitability of the location, Wifirst will propose the best option in synchronisation with the group's ISD:
In the first two cases, the Wifirst network offers unrivalled capillarity and availability, thanks to agreements with major operators and alternative players. It is then the Wifirst box that ensures that bandwidth is distributed evenly among users active on the network. The Wibox is an appliance developed by Wifirst that has three main roles:
While new technologies make it possible to limit the isolation of patients in SMR clinics, it is also essential to facilitate the types of connection in order to adapt to the profile of patients, especially those who are losing functional or cognitive autonomy.
The TV portal solution implemented by Wifirst allows patients to be welcomed to their rooms with an intuitive and interactive user interface. Wifirst implements secure authentication on a personalised captive portal designed in accordance with the Clariane Group's charter.
Connecting to the network is very easy. Once the user has activated WiFi on their device (smartphone, tablet, PC, etc.), they simply need to select the identifier (SSID) of the network set up on the premises.
